Dance Workshop with  Samwel Japhet Silas

This dance workshop connects contemporary dance with African traditional dance. Samwel offers tools to learn new movement principles, to discover a new dance language, to create dance movements and break the rules.
Samwel Japhet Silas is a dancer, choreographer and performer from Tanzania with a Diploma in Contemporary and African Dances from MuDa Africa Dance School in Tanzania. He is a founding member and the Artistic Director of Nantea Dance Company based at Nafasi Art Space in Dar es Salaam and Co-Managing Director of the Contemporary Dance Night, a dance event initiated by Nantea Dance Company in Dar es Salaam, that provides a platform for young Tanzanian and East African contemporary dance artists to presents their works to diverse audiences twice a year since 2018.
